Why Regenerative?

We use the word "regenerative" frequently throughout this website, and in our work. It is a core mission for the positive aspects of our work to be regenerative--which means to be 'marked by regeneration' or 'tending to regenerate'. In turn, regenerating is, according to definition 'restored to a better, higher, or more worthy state'. This is most definitely a core aspect of our vision, mission, values and goals.

Culture, we see as informing education and shaping learning, experience, brain-patterning and therefore beliefs, values and behaviors. Many aspects of culture are 'regenerative' for the positive and for the negative. People tend to subconsciously model many aspects of their culture. Violence, for instance, can beget violence in the next generation unless the cycle is facilitated in a new direction.

Culture is fundamental in influencing the level to which people connect to nature. Nature connection is the core experience that results in regenerative living instincts.

Regenerative Culture means, a culture that regenerates itself.

Regenerative Living means a system of living--as an integral part of the natural world, and as a result improving upon the ability for the land, the water, the air, the wildlife, the food systems, the economy and the culture to support life in a positive way.
